We are maturing and testing our infrastructure for launching and maintaining Small Language Models (SLMs) and SLM-powered AI Agents. Before scaling to different verticals, we are announcing a BIG ONBOARDING of 100 web3 projects to Assisterr. Free of charge, Yes, you can join!

When we started Assisterr in early 2023, our initial focus was on providing AI-powered support for web3 developers. Our goal was to onboard them faster, remove technical friction, and extract valuable insights about gaps in tech documentation and features the dev community needs to build their dApps.

In a short time, we built end-to-end infrastructure for launching, maintaining, and supporting SLM-powered AI agents trained on the technical documentation of different crypto protocols. Each model had custom UI interfaces that could be integrated into any communication channel within 2-3 minutes to provide automated support.

Solana was our first live integration. We spent 1.5 months onboarding them to Assisterr. This involved a lot of manual work, aiming to generate highly accurate responses for developers’ tech queries. This time-consuming onboarding process led us to consider a SaaS business model, hoping to secure monthly/annual payments as compensation for our work. This would protect us from investing months into onboarding a prospect that might not result in revenue. However, this approach led to a much longer sales cycle and higher friction.

We spent six months with this business model, learned a lot, and even secured $100k in annual contracts and $70k in grants. However, there was no “clink” or exponential growth.

Focus on Growth

Our team had an insightful conversation with an investor from a16z, who advised us to forget about revenue in the short term as it limits growth. Instead, he suggested focusing on growth by onboarding more top web3 protocols in a permissionless way to capture the market.

We took this advice and, in the next two months, onboarded almost 60 protocols and projects without asking for any upfront payment. This was possible due to tech improvements that reduced the onboarding process from 1,5 months to 1-2 days. Now, we’re ready to onboard any new partner ecosystem to scale access to Assisterr.

Our ability to showcase working agents based on a Small Language Models and provide them to the community creates a flywheel for user (and Assisterr’s) growth. Recently, we launched an onboarding funnel for the Assisterr AI marketplace—the first platform for creating and distributing Small Language Models. We achieved over 150k registered users and keep growing.

Freemium Business Model for DevRel SLM-powered AI Agents

We are excited to offer free access to Assisterr’s infrastructure to all web3 teams looking to improve developer experience with DevRel automation agents. We will cover all infrastructure, model training, and cloud hosting on behalf of each team, while the created models will belong to the creators within your community.

1. Introduction call x 30min

2. Define the dataset for SLM x 1h

3. Testing and collecting feedback x 1h

4. Deploying AI agents to community channels x 10min

5. Community engagement to inform and educate about the new support UX

While our current focus is on the web3 ecosystem to support DevRels, we plan to introduce Assisterr to new verticals shortly. Please get in touch if you are interested in a specific use case.

Why Does It Matter?

Assisterr is creating a new category within the creator economy, which is expected to grow from $150 billion to $500 billion by 2033. We aim to empower creators with more ownership over their work, especially in AI model and agent creation. This vision boosts individual creative potential and promotes a fairer, more dynamic digital economy.

Moreover, we want to ensure that the world of Generative AI is not dominated by big tech by developing both centralized and decentralized AI model formats. By leveraging blockchain technology to ensure data provenance, Assiter provides a reliable and secure foundation for AI model development.

Small Language Models are a novel implementation of GenAI, and we believe that the web3 community is a hotbed for experimentation. This could lead to more developers building in the crypto space.

How to Participate?

We already reaching out to teams who we know personally and have collaborated with since the start of our journey. If it’s not your team, do not hesitate to reach out to Ben – ben.carvill@assisterr.ai, and let’s get started!
